Quick Guide: How to Learn From Failure
Everyone fails in life. At one point or another and I have failed a zillion times in so many different things and first of all, failure is inevitable when you try to succeed on something new, Yes you will not win in the beginning,
I’m not saying this to demotivate you but Let us speak without beating around the bush, do you really think you will win so easily with only one or two attempts?
For some, the answer may be yes and I would like to say even for that win in your first attempt requires hundreds of failed attempts in practice or while preparing for the big day to start performing.
when we win effortlessly you will not have the rush of dopamine in your body that can give you immense joy and if it is so easy everyone would do it.
What Is Failure?
Failure, in general, is considered as a person but when we observe this closely it is a circumstance that a person is facing because of the action he took in prior.
So, Failure is just a situation that you need to overcome and learn so that you can move one step closer to success (which you deserve).
“Why do we fall, Bruce? So we can learn to pick ourselves up” – Movie Batman Begins
Why Learn From Failure?
- Nobody in the world likes to make mistakes and expect to do them daily but in reality
- We learn from our mistakes and when we repeat the same mistake over and over we start to understand the patterns of doing a particular thing and the outcome of it and we will make moves to avoid that mistake until another mistake appears.
- This is a cyclic process that no human can escape from this cycle but there are many things which can be avoided but mistakes can’t be avoided, So instead of calling it a failure lets call it a mistake that can be corrected and make it a stepping stone.
- So, Learning from out failures gives us an opportunity to make better moves in the future.
Just remember: If you’re not failing, you’re not growing.
Keys to Learn From Failure :
Stop the blame game, don’t make others a reason for your failure and take responsibility for your actions, the following are the keys to analyze the reasons for your failure and learn.
Evaluating: How Did You Plan?
- Spending a lot of time in planning is the best way to achieve the goal, evaluating how did you plan your steps and what are all the possible obstacles you anticipated while planning also decides your risk factor.
- Many of us don’t even think about planning and get stressed when they run into unexpected situations.
- So, Just observe how you planned everything and In the future, make sure to plan your general strategy, consider potential setbacks, and figure out how to overcome them, before you begin.
Evaluating: How Was Your Preparation?
- When you set your goal it is much more important to prepare yourself to perform the tasks to achieve it.
- Too many people skip this step and execute too early and this could possibly be the biggest mistake they have made that contributed to their failure.
- So, Evaluate how was your preparation, did you even prepare? if Yes, was the preparation enough?
- When you are preparing just make sure to add some backups for your execution this again goes back to planning.
- Example: if you are investing some capital into starting your new business then you must have a backup cashflow or cash on hand to make the business survive when something goes wrong.
- Preparing yourself for all the possible outcomes will make you alert when an abnormal situation occurs.
Evaluating: How Did You execute?
- Was your effort consistent, or did you experience lags in your work ethic, motivation, or your general mindset? Go back and assess when and why any drops in effort occurred.
- Identifying when you got demoralized or demotivated, and which external circumstances derailed your efforts, will allow you to anticipate such events and plan how you to address them in the future.
- While evaluating try to avoid the blame game and analyze what went wrong, This requires the discipline—better yet, the enthusiasm—to use sophisticated analysis to ensure that the right lessons are learned and the right remedies are employed.
What Is In Your Control Now?
- In times of failure, we lose our hope of getting successful and get demotivated, and this is often the case even with people who have a lot of experience.
- The truth is, we always have more control over things than we realize.
- Just focus on what you can do now and take control of the situations and make moves towards your goal.
- As long as you know where and how to look, failure can indeed be a great teacher.

Its like you read my thoughts! You appear to understand a lot about this, like you
wrote the e book in it or something. I think that you simply can do with a few percent to drive the
message house a bit, but instead of that, this is excellent blog.
An excellent read. I will certainly be back.
